GIS Programmer (Job Number: 323944)

SAIC (future Leidos) is looking for a talented GIS Programmer in Suitland, MD to join a large technical team working to develop and integrate customized software solutions that address tough challenges in a complex environment. Candidate will become part of a great team in the Exploitation Technologies Division, under SAIC’s National Security Sector, that provides advanced products and services to a leading Intelligence Community customer in the Washington DC Metro area. Provide design, development, integration, and testing services for intelligence systems.

Provide design, development, integration, and testing services for intelligence systems.

  • Support design, development, integration, testing, and fielding of new and existing software
  • Assist in planning and coordinating all activities related to requirements gathering, design, development, and implementation of client information systems and software applications
  • Ensure development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Participate in pretesting phase of development by evaluating proposed technical solutions and requirements in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations
  • Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications
  • Apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to work with the Application Development Lead on issues related to the design, development, and deployment of client oriented, mission-critical information and software systems
  • Liaise with Software Engineers to assist with quality assurance and documentation.
Portions of SAIC to be renamed Leidos, Inc., subject to stockholder approval and consummation of a separation transaction if approved by SAIC board of directors. SAIC is pursuing a plan to separate into two independently traded companies; one that provides technical, engineering and enterprise information technology services primarily to the U.S. government (new SAIC), and one that delivers technical solutions in national security, engineering and health (Leidos, Inc).

Required Qualifications
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience with CMMI ML3 and/or ISO: 9001-2008
  • Strong skills in Object Oriented design and development with at least one of C# or C++
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Active TS/SCI
  • Security+ certification
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop / ArcObjects
  • Understanding of KML/KMZ structures
  • Experience working with GIS data such as Raster, Vector, or geodatabase
  • Understanding of GIS analysis, workflows, and problem solving
  • Experience using Eclipse, Subversion, Hudson/Jenkins, Maven, and/or Ant
  • Windows and/or Linux environments
