The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Integration Application Engineer position located in Minneapolis, MN. This position is located in Minneapolis, MN. This is the largest city in Minnesota and was founded by the French explorer Father Louis Hennepin in 1680. Minneapolis serves as a hub for many connecting flights from the east to the west coast.
Integration Application Engineer Responsibilities:
Assist field application engineers, sales representatives and strategic customers in applying SEL integration and application products through telephone contact, visits, trade show demonstrations and application literature.
Train field application engineers, sales representatives and strategic customers on SEL integration and application products and applications.
Contribute to integration and application product specifications and application literature.
Perform special studies and tests as needed by customers.
Maintain a working knowledge of all SEL products and a perspective of industry practice.
Participate in SEL sales and marketing activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
Follow and improve Application Engineering area processes.
B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Over 3 years working knowledge of SCADA practices and philosophies
Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills
Working knowledge of protective relay applications at utilities or engineering firms
Knowledgeable in communications protocol applications such as DNP 3.0 and Modbus
Willing to travel 35% within the Central region and occasional travel nationwide
Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Ability to work cooperatively in team environment
Knowledge of industrial controls and PLCs, 3 phase power systems
Knowledge of protocols and communications with RTUs, PLCs, or IEDs
Experience implementing human machine interfaces
