Under the direct supervision of the immediate Supervisor, the Food Service
Associate performs a variety of patient and non-patient food services as well as
other related tasks in accordance to regulations and the Mission and Values of
the Sisters of Mercy. Performs all duties with minimum of 98% accuracy. Duties
may vary depending on assignment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Graduate or equivalent.
One (1) year of restaurant, cafeteria food service experience preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understanding
Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members
Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, appearance or work areas,
safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the
ability to work effectively with patients, personnel, and staff.
Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally
upset and at times hostile people within the facility.
