The Kindle team is looking for a data-savvy professional to work directly with the Self-Publishing Operations team to create, report on, and monitor business and operations metrics. Pre-publishing and post-publishing performance metrics will help identify gaps in process and tools. This role will help scope, influence, and evaluate process improvements including service offerings for independent publishers. This job contributes to Amazon’s success by enabling data-driven decision making that will impact the customer experience of those who publish on the Kindle Direct Platform and sell their content in the Kindle Store.
This analyst will also assist in creating, enhancing, monitoring, and reporting on metrics that properly correlate to the department's objectives and effectively indicate areas of opportunity and weakness that enable process improvement.
Using systems understanding and business knowledge, develop specifications, test plans, coordinate and execute systems and data testing to ensure that requirements are met.
Analyzing and understanding large amounts of data to identify specific risk instances and broader risk trends, understanding root cause and recommending improvements
Innovating key initiatives around discovering fraud/risk trends and designing specific solutions to avert loss
Evaluating and optimizing existing and new analytical models
Building/optimizing existing and new analytical models for risk detection, optimization of investigations workload, and lifecycle risk management for publishers and content consumers
Working closely and providing coordination between the analytics, engineering, and operations teams to drive key process improvements
Establishing scalable, efficient, repeatable processes for large scale data analyses to support the creation and interpretation of key business metrics
Developing key metrics and model reports for communication with business leaders
5+ years of relevant work experience
3+ years working experience as a business analyst or equivalent
Excellent communication, planning, and organization skills
Advanced problem-solving skills for difficult to complex issues
Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
Excel and SQL experience required.
