University of North Georgia is seeking applications for several instructor positions to teach English as a Second Language in Africa, Europe, and Asia as part of a summer study abroad program. North Georgia is a state-supported university within the University System of Georgia, with an enrollment of approximately 14000 students. The university is also the Military College of Georgia, and in partnership with the US Army Cadet Command, will be coordinating study abroad opportunities specifically for cadets.
Each program requires a Director of Instruction ( DOI ) who can act as an instructional leader in teaching English as a second language to members of the host country. Each position requires two days of cultural and language instructional training in Georgia, March 22 & 23, with a site to be determined. Additionally, a one day session in early Fall will be required for an After Action Review. This information will be provided at a later date.
PhD, Master’s Degree, or 18 hours in related coursework.
Must be qualified to teach languages (English or another language).
Prefer ESL / EFL Certification, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expertise in, or connection with the placement country is helpful. Preference will be given to applicants with high-intermediate skill level in one of the dominant host languages.
