The Nurse Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, evaluating and revising academic and continuing education programs related to human plasma science, professional development and medical ethics. The Nurse Educator will serve as a faculty member, sharing their knowledge and skills in the development and facilitation of courses as well as providing oversight and mentoring of participants in the programs and acting as role model for students.
Bachelors Degree in Nursing from and accredited school of professional nursing
Masters degree in nursing or education preferred
Minimum 5 years clinical experience as an RN
Valid unrestricted Indiana RN License
Experience as an in educator including facilitating trainiang, instructional design, curriculum development and principles of teaching
Excellent communication skills and ability to listen actively, engage participants, clearly explain complex concepts and provide feedback.
Possess strong time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills to manage the learning programs and achieve the learning objectives
Ability to assess learner needs and prepare educational programs for staff with various skill levels and diverse background.
Possess excellent critical thinking skills, be creative and flexible and have substantive knowledge in medical science.
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Occasionally walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 25lbs. Frequently drives to site locations with occasional travel within the United States. Able to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups. Must work with diverse groups to obtain consensus on issues. Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues.
