Summary
We seek a Systems Engineer to assist our client in architecting and deploying open-source storage systems.
The ideal candidate would be a professional with a deep passion for open-source technologies, solid Linux experience (Ubuntu strongly preferred), an understanding of storage infrastructure and at least one programming language (Python strongly preferred).
As part of a small team, you will help build out an OpenStack platform from the ground up. If you don't have a background in storage, you should understand storage to be able to build out dispersed systems (Linux / OpenStack).
Responsibilities
Planning and monitoring of the storage network and its components
Develop / maintain scripts to automate storage administration tasks
Provide constructive feedback on storage architecture and procedures
Act as a project resource for storage related projects
Performance analysis, log monitoring and hardware performance monitoring
Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience
Solid experience with open source environments (Ubuntu, BSD)
5+ years as a Systems Engineer / DevOps professional
UNIX command line experience
Experience with at least one high level programming language (Python preferred)
Preferred
Experience with open-source software based storage (e.g. OpenStack Swift, Gluster, and Eucalyptus)
Experience using orchestration & configuration tools (Chef, Puppet preferred)
