Summary:The HRIS Project Lead will be responsible for leading a major HRIS/Payroll multi-year project to implement a Payroll Solution. This position will align with Business, IT and external partners to develop plans and oversee the implementation of this large-scale project. The HRIS Project Leader will support improved processes with technology solutions that drive the growth and objectives of rue21. The HRIS Project Leader will be responsible for all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including but not limited to the following: Provide analytical, technical, business and/or management expertise to the project team Serve as a change agent for the business and project Provide executive management with options and associated benefits/risks when evaluating the process technology solutions. Duties and Responsibilities: To procure, implement, operate and role-out the selected HRIS/Payroll system. Keep business and IT management informed of project progress and problems, particularly as to needed changes in schedule, resources, or product. Coordinating project deliverables and performance with the daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and support of the existing IT systems. Ensures minimal disruption of production systems by good coordination and effective project output integration with existing systems. Provides good technical and analytical guidance to project team members, so that their abilities and project quality are enhanced. Consults with and advises other IT groups on applications in area of responsibility. Work with the business to determine the most effective use of the existing systems and how they can be fully utilized. Meets with business partners at all levels to gather business systems requirements. Develops/reviews functional and technical specification documents. Develops/reviews detailed test plans for system and user acceptance testing. Provides off-hour support of critical production applications as necessary. Ensures adherence to all rue21 IT change management policies procedures related to implementation of changes or enhancement to production. Ensures applications are effectively "turned over' to IT Operations with necessary documentation to operate all systems, including execution schedules, job descriptions, and data flow charts. Establishes and tracks all requests for system enhancements and reports on project status. Escalates and provides options for all issues beyond scope and/or authority.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration 5+ years business analysis/project lead experience in an IT environment; multi-unit experience required HRIS experience required, specifically with implementing a Payroll Solution Hands-on experience in various phases of the project life cycle; Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience required Working knowledge of RPG IV and or SQL CL preferred Experience with HR, ERP, financial, Lease Administration systems preferred Proven past experience working in an evolving fast paced environment, specialty retail industry experience preferred Proven ability to build productive cross-functional relationships at all levels of the Organization Experience working both independently and in a team oriented environment Strong attention to detail with proven accuracy Strong written and oral communication skills Effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills Disclaimer: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within the classification.
