Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems. Solutions are imaginative, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Work is performed under general direction. Participates in determining objectives of assignments. Plans schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.

Planning - Tasks and Responsibilities:
Work with Program management to coordinate samples and reagents into the operation and within the operation

Ensure that resources are coordinated (labor, equipment, samples, reagents, and consumables) to complete the work flow.

Responsible for sourcing appropriate instrumentation with Program management and Laboratory supervisors.

Ensures all reagents stated in study plans are available prior to the initiation of a study

Coordinates sample shipments with external shipping departments and Sponsors

Responsible for maintaining a long-term schedule with the Services Manager.

Key participant in resource planning, including evaluation of staffing levels, staff training, instrument qualification and suitability

Ensuring instruments are fit for purpose and meet system suitability criteria

Work with the Program Managers and Laboratory Supervisors to agree a study schedule

Responsible for providing Lab Supervisor details of samples requiring analysis

Maintain an assay training matrix to identify training requirements of analysts.

To assist in support functions required to ensure that studies are performed in a compliant manner

To ensure that all work is performed in compliance with Company health and safety policies and current health and safety legislation

Writes and reviews standard operating procedures. Assures that all standard operating procedures are followed appropriately and regulatory requirements are met.

To attend internal and external training courses and conferences, relevant to the post

To provide general procedural training to other members of staff

To perform other duties as required by Line Manager

Project Management - Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure project charter is in place that aligns business objectives, project deliverables and roles and responsibilities
  • Drive decision making and facilitate work flow to deliver project on-time and within budget
  • Maintain project plan
  • Maintain project charter
  • Schedule and facilitate project team meetings
  • Prepare stage gate presentations (w/ project leader)
  • Prepare progress reports (as needed)
  • Develop and implement systems and tools that will drive business growth and improvements
Qualifications

Ideal candidate would have a degree in science with 5 years of experience in the industry. The condidate would have some project management experience. PMP/Six Sigma a bonus.
