Identifies, measures and controls credit risk throughout the institution by participating in credit risk projects. Creates and/or revises Credit Policy, procedures and guidelines to account for changing regulatory, economic and political environments. Analyzes related reports to manage risk. Impact on the Business · Modify credit policy and procedures to ensure Company loans and other credit exposures are properly controlled and monitored within prudent banking principles · Provide more complex special analyses utilizing internal and external data sources to identify risk and provide insight into developing trends in the Company credit risk profile for management, Group and Board reporting · Develop policy, procedures, data sources and reporting to ensure risk is identified, measured, monitored and controlled as required by new products or markets Operational Effectiveness & Control · Monitor existing credit exposure of a more complex nature via regular reports, ensuring risk remains within established limits; establish new limits if adverse trends are noted · Ensure effective management of risk by extracting valid and accurate data; ensure data elements remain valid, consistent and statistically sound Management of Risk · Ensure compliance, operational risk controls in accordance with HSBC or regulatory standards and policies; and optimize relations with regulators by addressing any issues · Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand Observation of Internal Controls · Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
      Qualifications
      · Minimum of six years proven and progressive technical and/or financial services experience or equivalent
      · Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, related field or equivalent experience
      · Strong organizational, communications and interpersonal skills
      · Ability to manage multiple priorities
      · Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages
      · Familiarity with the Company’s front-end quantitative-based risk measurement process and related decision technology that measure default probability, loss given default and exposure at default estimates
