ASRC Energy Services - Response Operations (AES-RO) is seeking qualified individuals to work as seasonal, part-time Supervisors onboard vessels in the Chukchi and Beaufort seas for the 2013 open water season (approximately April through October). This position reports to the AES Response Operations Manager or Lead supervisor depending on location and will provide field supervision for the primary spill response, spill cleanup, and environmental support crews. Ability to work in a team environment, ability to make decisions, follow instructions and adapt to changing situations. Applicant must have strong safety values and adhere to all Shell /AES and other North Slope safety practices.
Plan, direct, and evaluate the work performed by field personnel.
Plan and schedule maintenance and repair activities on all field equipment and machinery.
Conduct routine safety inspections and assist with audit inspections as required.
Recommend and establish personnel work schedules in accordance with Company requirements.
Perform probationary employee performance evaluations.
Maintain accurate time reporting records and approve timesheets.
Research, update, and maintain department policies, procedures, and programs.
Prepare work status and progress reports.
Position may be exposed to severe arctic weather conditions.
Provide leadership and education in AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Minimum Education and Experience
Be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of marine oil spill response supervisory experience.
Must have basic computer skills with Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and a pre-employment Merchant Mariner / HAZWOPER Physical and wear a respirator (AES provided). .
Be in good physical condition and capable of working in an offshore marine environment.
Possess a current valid drivers license.
Possess a current valid TWIC card.
Must be able to pass a Helicopter Underwater Egress Training.
Merchant marine certifications, Incident Command System (ICS), and small vessel operations experience are preferred but not required.
- Position subject to AES/USCG Drug and Alcohol testing and reporting regulations.
- Applicant must be able to obtain a North Slope Training Card (NSTC)
- Applicant must be able to pass a background check.
