This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. They are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
Retired military are usually ineligible for membership in the AF Reserves.
Retired military that have active AF Reserve assignments may apply provided they show assignment (position & unit) on their application.
Military service member's "Statement of Service" will be accepted up to 120 days prior to separation date IF a terminal leave form or DD214 cannot be provided.
The "Statement of Service" must be signed by, or by direction of, the adjutant, personnel officer, or commander of your unit or higher headquarters and must indicate when your terminal leave will begin, your rank, dates of active duty service, the Type of Discharge and Character of Service (i.e. honorable).

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Chief, Education and Training Office in administering the education and training programs, provide technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors within unit organizations on all aspects of the program. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
Manages the development of education and training instructional products
Responsible for overall management OJT program for the wing. Plans, directs, organizes, and coordinates operations of the Advance Distributed Learning, and multimedia education and training programs.
Monitors the overall accuracy and reliability of all data entered into and maintained in Personnel Data System (PDS).
Administers a diversified testing program.
Responsibilities will include being primary or alternate test control officer.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position be filled. (TIG) Requirement for General Schedule (GS) Positions:
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
The purpose of TIG restrictions is to prevent excessively rapid promotions in competitive service GS positions and to protect competitive principles.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of military personnel policies, Reserve mission, training methods and programs, and Air Force Testing Program, AFIADL, and DANTES testing.
Knowledge of automated systems, personal computers, and software.
Ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of training programs.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, both orally and in writing, using tact and courtesy.

Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position.
The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements standards.
The incumbents regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities.
Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).
The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY).
Position requires the incumbent to obtain and retain a security clearance as designated for this position.
This is a designated drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
