The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota Duluth invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Cultural Entrepreneurship, beginning Aug. 26, 2013. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for the first Cultural Entrepreneurship BA program in the United States. This is an interdisciplinary program combining entrepreneurial ideas with the intellectual rigor and expertise of the Liberal Arts. The new degree program, being housed in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, is seeking an individual who possesses the necessary business expertise combined with a sound liberal arts grounding and a solid foundation in second languages and cultures. Area of specialization open. We are dedicated to integrating liberal education, research, creative activity and public engagement preparing students to become life-long learners and globally engaged citizens. Our university has begun the the exciting work of implementing a recently developed strategic plan ( and we are seeking someone who wishes to be at the center of this endeavor.

Required Qualifications: a) PhD in a recognized business discipline from an AACSB-International accredited school or a major national or provincial university by July 1, 2013 OR a PhD in Liberal Arts/Social Science/Entrepreneurship/D.Phil AND a MBA or DBA from an AACSB-International accredited school or a major national or provincial university by July 1, 2013; b) evidence of strong research potential; c) minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level (TA experience accepted); d) ability to teach Cultural Entrepreneurship.

Preferred Qualifications: a) Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum and teach entrepreneurship/ economics or finance, marketing, accounting or public administration programs courses; b) knowledge of contemporary technology and pedagogy; c) native or near native command of both English and another global language; d) demonstrated background in humanities/liberal arts, for example, knowledge of the economics of art and culture, organizations in cultural sector or cultural industry and social sciences; e) demonstrated record of research publication.

Position currently entails teaching five three-credit Cultural Entrepreneurship core content courses per year, advising, research and professional/university service in this new BA Program. The individual will be responsible for developing the core curriculum.
