The Research Associate - performance analyst will work as a member of the VTTI IT team, integrating research tools into VTTIâ??s HPC infrastructure and establishing methods for measuring and monitoring system performance. Duties and responsibilities: The analyst is responsible for supporting analytical researchers, notably using Matlab, SAS, and R to access large-scale databases using SQL, as well as in-house developed visualization and annotation software. This person must have a facility writing SQL queries to support researchersâ?? needs and a strong quantitative analysis background. Preparing technical documentation for systems and collaborating with system architects, operations staff, software developers, and researchers are essential. VTTIâ??s team operates in a dynamic environment, where infrastructure implementations and processes must be flexible and agile. The performance analyst must ensure that all members of the operations and development team, as well as VTTI researchers, understand system performance, to ensure adequate scaling and planning of these systems. VTTIâ??s largest research programs are naturalistic driving studies and analyses, especially as they relate to safety. The analyst will establish methods to quantify accuracy and completeness of collected data, analyze and implement data analysis pipelines, write well-documented and maintained code to perform various analytic tasks. The analyst will aid in the development of data dictionaries and the production of comprehensive summary reports and presentations suitable for internal customers and project sponsors.
- MS in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Significant work experience and a lesser degree may be considered instead of the advanced degree. -Experience programming Matlab, SAS, and/or R to access relational databases. -Significant work and/or research experience analyzing data from multiple sources and synthesizing results. -Demonstrated experience conducting large database related projects, including providing summary reports to management and customers. -Demonstrated experience with graphical software. -Strong technical documentation, oral and written analytical communication.
