Providing assistance to research faculty in conducting transportation research. Duties include: (i) traveling to off-site locations to conduct data collection, data downloads, and ensuring data quality, (ii) assisting with installing and minor trouble-shooting (i.e., adjusting and testing) data collection systems, (iii) recruiting, screening, and working with human subjects, (v) independently, with little supervision, performs most assignments with instructions on global objectives and general results expected. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and work is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics, electrical engineering or related field(s) and/or the equivalent level of experience and training. -Demonstrated working knowledge of hand tools, and powered tools, -Computer proficiency specifically Microsoft office applications.
- Must be trained and certified in the Protection of Human Subjects as prescribed by Virginia Techâ??s Institutional Review Board.
