Description Senior Systems Manager Description: The Senior Systems Manager will be responsible for managing a global team of Unix and Windows engineers. The global team is responsible for documentation, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the complete IT environment including, but not limited to: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SuSE Linux Enterprise Server, AIX, Solaris, Windows, Citrix Xenapp, backup solutions VMWare, HP Server support. Senior Systems Manager will be responsible for forecasting and managing capital and operating budgets. The Senior Systems Manager provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies. The Senior Systems Manager is responsible for evaluating and managing employee performance and development, as well as hiring and termination decisions. The Senior Systems Manager establishes and recommends changes to policies which affect the global team. Responsibilities: · Develop, plan, direct and control strategic short and long term financial and operational goals and objectives for a broad functional area. · Responsible for performance management, training and development of direct reports. Must have the ability to motivate direct reports. · Responsible for assigning, managing, and prioritizing overall team projects and assignments. · Oversees the development of standards, guidelines, control procedures, and documentation to standardize the configuration, change or incident management processes and control the production environment · Responsible for ensuring compliance of all applicable policies, laws and regulations. Interface with internal and external audit organizations as necessary · Communicate effectively with senior management and internal business partners · Develop reports and KPIs for senior management · Responsible for procurement of server infrastructure ensuring capacity is adequate for known commitments · Research and recommend new technologies that would deliver step improvements in productivity or meet strategic goals · Manage the implementation of projects, refresh activities and other tasks accordingly to schedule and priorities · Manage operational budgets · Manages activities of two or more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing.
Qualifications Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) related field or equivalent work experience · 5+ years related experience in IT Management · 10+ years progressive and varied technical, data processing/ information management experience Knowledge/Skills: · Advanced knowledge of PC desktop and Server applications · Strong background in server operating systems. (Windows, Linux, and AIX preferred) · Strong background in server virtualization technologies (VMware) · Ability to effectively manage resources in other regions or countries. Proven experience working in a global capacity · Ability to operate in a matrix managed environment · Advanced knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management and/or Configuration Management processes · Advanced organizational and project management skills · Advanced problem solving and analytical skills · Advanced oral and written communication skills · Advanced customer service skills · Advanced negotiation skills Advanced leadership skills
