This new full-time position will provide and present water conservation extension information to customers of the Oklahoma City Water Utilities system. This project will require frequent trips from Stillwater, OK to Oklahoma City, OK to conduct water conservation workshops, seminars, and training. Extension education and outreach efforts will be targeted towards three distinct groups of Oklahoma City Water Utilities customers: 1) homeowners; 2) commercial and managed properties; and 3) parks and recreation, golf courses, and sports fields. In addition, extension outreach and training efforts will be targeted towards irrigation and landscape installation service companies that operate in the Oklahoma City Metro area. Water conservation information will be disseminated through a series of 1-3 hour workshops, half-day seminars, participation in turfgrass, irrigation, and landscape industry affiliated trade shows and conferences; video conferencing, Extension publications such as guides, fact sheets, bulletins, current reports, and brochures, and via a dedicated outdoor water conservation website.

This position is grant funded and continuation is based upon funding, need, and performance.

A working knowledge of social media applications is necessary.
