We’re looking for a communications manager to lead the strategy of our consumer campaigns throughout the year - defining/refining the strategy, establishing the goals and metrics, aligning with adjacent media and entertainment industry programs, and driving integration across the rest of the Lifestyle team and the Business Groups (BGs) to amplify and supplement marketing plans. This high visibility role will demand a strong mix of consumer marketing, personal relationship, collaboration and communications skills - and a willingness to build your own influence and impact based on your results. This exciting and unique position will have a key role on the team where they will drive and build our communications strategy across Microsoft’s consumer products, ensuring global storytelling, and working very closely with the PR leads across the Microsoft consumer business groups.
Critical to this role will be a consumer marketing background with strong external relationship/personal engagement experience, preferably via PR and/or event marketing. Further, a proven track record of cross-team collaboration is mandatory. This role is very dependent upon successfully working with BG’s across the company and within the Lifestyle team to activate programs that support their marketing strategies and needs. Strategic, creative consumer marketing concepts and fresh ideas are required in order to achieve success in this role.
Interested candidates should have the following qualifications:
•8+ years of experience across the Marketing, Communications, and/or PR disciplines
•Experience with Consumer and Event marketing while managing multiple projects and stakeholders
•Proven relationship management capability with agency partnerships
•Bachelor’s degree required / MBA helpful
•In depth knowledge and experience with social and experiential marketing
