Extensive project management experience with large and complex projects.

Familiarity with large scale IT operational environments and current industry technologies.

Knowledgeable in data center infrastructure (HVAC, power distribution, cooling strategies), layouts of data center-housed computing equipment and all levels of data center operations.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Strong customer management/relationship skills.

Proficient skills using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and experience using Microsoft Project.

Desired skills
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Experience in managing projects related to upgrade, replacement or modernization of information technology infrastructures (i.e., networks, telecommunications, data centers, virtual infrastructures)

Extensive technical background in network and/or telecommunications and/or applications systems design and implementation.

Knowledgeable in energy consumption manufacturer ratings and modes of all types of computing devices (i.e., network, storage, server, client and printer equipment).

Experienced developing and writing technical proposals and recommendations with corresponding cost components, including labor basis of estimates and bill of materials/equipment lists.

Experienced in all key IT service delivery areas, specifically relating to service level agreements and operations and maintenance resource levels and loading.

Ability to plan and direct simultaneous project activities, such as concurrent data center migration projects in parallel with development of new technical proposals.

Specific Job Description
The successful candidate will be assigned as a Sr. Project Manger primarily supporting upgrades, replacement, consolidation or modernization of Information Technology infrastructure and systems. Initial assignment will be as Sr. Project manager for a large and complex project to consolidate the data centers and rehost applications for a large government organization with data center facilities throughout the United States. The Sr. Project Manager will provide project management (planning, costs, scheduling, resource development, performance monitoring), and technical and pricing negotiations with various customer groups. Provides day-to-day project team and engineering direction and guidance, develops resolutions for potential complex project impacting issues, initiates and addresses procurement activities, and interfaces with suppliers and subcontractors for multiple large scale projects. Ensures effective job planning plus integrated safety controls are effectively implemented. Provides senior level presentations, earned value management assessments and related project reporting to meet Lockheed Martin’s project management requirements. Participates in IT related long range objective planning, task level development and collaboration across multi-discipline organizations. Implements quality assurance procedures in accordance with Lockheed Martin methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of project goals and customer satisfaction. Anticipate client’s needs and proposes alternative business solutions. Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client/business relationships. This position will be required travel.

Standard Job Description
Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Typical Minimums
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 15 years or more of professional experience; or 13 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline.
