Brief Description TVG is developing a new foundational platform architecture to service the needs of a suite of next generation wagering applications and services The platform architecture will be developed using the Java 6 technology stack on Linux with a heavy emphasis on simplicity and utilization of open source frameworks and components Description The platform will be implemented as a service oriented architecture with an emphasis on scalability security abstraction and extensibility We are looking for talented Java developers to join our team and help with the design and implementation of this cutting edge technology platform Ensure all deliverables are high quality including software coding and product process documentation Contribute significantly to solutions that deliver an excellent endtoend customer experience with a high measure of compliance with business technical requirements software architecturedesign documents and product and process documentation Provide quality assurance and ongoing technical evaluations on key projects Research of new technology tools and integrate into projects as applicable Design software and systems from functional requirements and specifications Creation of design briefs Ability to provide second level support to a 247 production environment on rotational basis Must Haves 7+ years overall Java development experience and 3+ years specifically with the Java 6 platform Proven track record using OOD design techniques and patterns in an Agile environment Demonstrated experience developing high performance distributed Java powered web applications and SOA solutions Experience developing on and deploying to commercial grade Linux distributions Excellent knowledge and experience building SOAP based Java web services Demonstrated realworld experience using open source frameworks like Spring Hibernate Demonstrated experience with Java platform technologies like JPA 20 JMS JAXB JAXWS JAXRS etc Demonstrated experience with open source Java web services frameworks like Axis CXF Jersey Restlet etc Solid understanding and appreciation of secure software development best practices Experience writing JUnit based unit tests and mock objects Excellent relational database knowledge and direct experience with Oracle 1011 platform (SQL and PLSQL) Ability to work in a fast paced agile test driven development environment Nice to Haves Solid understanding of the JVM and JVM performance tuning Experience with Maven Current or recent SCJP certification is desirable Experience developing and deploying applications to multiple application servers and servlet containers (JBoss Tomcat Resin Glassfish etc)
