POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the Senior Financial and Payroll Accountant and will be responsible for supporting payroll preparation, serving as back-up payroll administrator and completing related reporting for IPSEN’s Milford and Basking Ridge sites.

This is a TEMP to PERM position. 24 hours per week - 3 days (days are flexible).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enter new employees into ADP payroll system
  • Enter approved compensation changes including salary, bonuses, commissions, stock options, etc.
  • Coordinate payroll submission timelines with Milford and Basking Ridge
  • Prepare journal entries to record payroll in the general ledger
  • Prepare periodic reports for HR and Management related to headcount, 401K, overtime, payroll reconciliation.
  • Maintain payroll files and forms
  • Serve as backup for payroll preparation in Sr. Financial and Payroll Accountant’s absence
  • Other related responsibilities, as requested by Sr. Payroll Accountant
Education: Education: Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Business Administration. ADP certification a plus.

Experience: 3 – 5 years of experience processing payroll for a mid-size company with exempt and hourly employees. Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.

  • Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Word

  • ADP reporting
Physical Demands:
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.

Manual and visual ability to use computer for extended periods of time.

Standard office environment

Environmental, Health and Safety Requirements:
  • Comply with all corporate and facility Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures. Attend all mandatory EHS meetings and complete all EHS training requirements.
  • Intervene in potentially unsafe situations and report any incident, unsafe acts, conditions or equipment. Report any emergency situation (medical emergency/chemical spill/security concern) by following established emergency programs and procedures.
