Seeking a structural design engineer to design, check and draft bridge and other structural plans to be advertised for construction. Selected candidate will also assist in administering consultant contracts for structural design.

Minimum Qualifications
Considerable work experience in civil engineering principles and practices related to bridge and other structural design; reading highway structure plans; AASHTO Specifications related to structural design; calculation of material quantities; cost estimation; and, assessment of related information including surveys, highway design, hydraulic, hydrologic and geotechnical reports. Demonstrated ability to design bridges and other structures; prepare quantities; develop cost estimates; read and comprehend technical information; prepare and review design notes; produce structural design plans and related documents to meet milestone dates; review and report on engineering work produced by others; work cooperatively as a member of a design team; and, communicate effectively with internal and external individuals. Considerable skills in the use of structural engineering software; Microstation; and Microsoft Office software on a personal computer.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with major coursework in structural engineering. PE Registration preferred.
