This Technical Analyst III provides a diverse set of roles within the manufacturing application team. Approximately 75% of development time is devoted to Synon and code management functions while other 25% of development time will be supporting VB.net and ASP.net applications. This role assists in the development and support of manufacturing and order entry system applications based on defined business requirements. The role provides support for production systems, including troubleshooting and fixes, and architects solutions. Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify requirements. Employee will be expected to write documentation to describe program development as well as participate in the testing process to ensure systems meet business requirements. Role may participate individually in implementing enhancements or as a part of a project team.
Primary Technical Analyst III responsibilities include:
Perform DBA role maintaining Synon database model and manage code rollout through Turnover application.
Mentor and guide other Synon programmers through creation of detailed designs and code reviews.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, for interaction with other team members as well as participating in implementation user training, system documentation and help desk support
Monitor help desk queue and provide ongoing support and maintenance for installed applications per customer service level agreements. Some off-hour support required.
Flexible to travel within US, Canada and Mexico (up to 20%).
Transform business requirements into comprehensive solutions using the appropriate methods, tools and technologies.
Adhere to the defined software development life cycle process.
Experience developing large scale enterprise applications strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Synon database maintenance functions.
Familiarity with Turnover application for AS/400 code management.
Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, support). Ability to estimate application development tasks accurately a must.
Must be driven and eager, with an ability and willingness to learn and implement new technologies and software development techniques.
Development experience in the following areas a plus: VB.NET, ASP.NET, XML, C#, HTML5 and Crystal.
Experience leading and mentoring other developers through problem solving and coding.
Experience delivering quality, on-time completion of technical projects.
Experience with order entry and manufacturing systems with knowledge of printing industry a plus.
