Duties: Responsible for overseeing the Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury and Back-Office functions of the company. Work with bank trading desks and other counterparties to manage MFX portfolio risk and collateral arrangements. Ensure accurate swap contract execution and monitoring. Design and implement the transaction capture and trade implementation platform for front, back-office and derivative management. Manage the currency hedging operation from negotiating contract terms to ensuring deal capture and contract monitoring. Interact with microfinance clients, helping guide them through the hedging process and negotiating back-to-back or offsetting hedges with bank or development fund counterparties. Manage the full range of functions from contract negotiation to deal administration. Negotiate ISDA agreements and perform credit analysis on new clients. Collaborate with the CEO on developing new business lines. Attend and participate in the company’s quarterly non-executive Board of Directors meetings. Supervise staff.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Accounting. The Director of Finance and Operations must have at least five years of experience in the position offered or in the related positions of Accounting Manager or Controller. The five years of experience must include experience in hedging and derivatives at an operative level; accounting, reporting and financial statement preparation; setting up, implementing and evaluating financial controls within a company; public accounting experience; managing the annual external audit; implementing hedge accounting, derivative market valuations; growing and managing an accounting and finance group; and experience with management information systems and treasury systems, Reuters and Bloomberg. The Director of Finance and Operations must have professional accounting certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA). Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience will be accepted.
