NCI: As
a Principal Systems Administrator ( Systems Administrator , Principal ) you will
have the opportunity to provide a Government agency with database, system
administration, data analysis, and Tier 3 Service Desk support for a
security-related system. Your ability to communicate effectively with various
stakeholders, provide IT support in an expedient and concise manner, combined
with your expertise in SQL, Oracle, and data analysis will be pertinent to
succeeding in this position. This position requires attention to detail,
independent thinking, ownership of work, and technical leadership, while
allowing you to work in a close-knit team environment and grow in knowledge and
experience.
Highlights

of Responsibilities:
Provides
database and migration, system administration, data analysis, and Tier 3 Service
Desk technical support.
Collaborates
with development team in the installation of patches and releases in SIT,
Training, Production, and Data Migration environments.
Ensures
that architectural, performance, and connectivity aspects of the system are
designed and implemented efficiently and effectively.
Ensures
the appropriate technical approach, standards, processes, and communication are
followed.
Performs
integration/security testing of the system and SQL scripting; database backups,
and archiving.
Manages
Apache, Tomcat and SQL Server database installation and configuration.
Maintains
background stability of test, migration, training, and production environments.
Coordinates
migration and off-hour activities.
Reviews
and assesses Database Structure, assists development team with consistent sound
development, taking into account unique business rules.
Develops
and analyzes advanced data queries, extracts and reports while providing
continual data maintenance to ensure data integrity.
Defines
requirements for Inbound and Outbound data exchange.
Performs
software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software
packages.
Schedules
installations/upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT
policies/procedures.
Ensures
workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing
appropriate software and hardware solutions.
Conducts
routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure
compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Oversees
the maintenance of data files and the monitoring of system configurations to
ensure data integrity and develops procedures for and manages system backups
and disaster recovery.
Oversees
the creation, modification, and deletion of user accounts; addition of software
drivers; and connections of systems to the network.
Maintains
documents (e.g. data dictionary, ERD) and enforces system administration
policies and standard operating procedures.
Ensures
long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in
the overall information systems planning of the organization.
Responsible
for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer
software.
Implements
operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance
of the system.

Requirements:
6 to 11
years System Administration and Database Administration -3 years of experience
with data analysis and service desk support.
6+
years of demonstrated experience with Oracle and SQL.
Must be
able to provide after hour on-call and weekend support on a rotating schedule.
Must
have excellent oral and written communication with team and customers.
Must be
able to obtain and maintain a Minimal Background Investigation (MBI).
Preferred

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's
Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Experience
with 2 or more of the following: SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, DTS, SSMA, TSQL C#,
VB.NET, ASP.NET, VBScript, Windows Server, ITIL.
Experience
with data architecture and data analysis.
Experience
with enterprise networks.
