Agile Coach – Kanban
Contract/Contract to Perm project in Detroit & Warren Michigan

We also use Agile to build and deliver software for our customers.
Ideal candidates would have deep expertise with Kanban and are passionate about building successful, collaborative teams through facilitation, coaching and mentoring. This specific project involves an infrastructure move from Plano, TX to Warren, MI.
This position offers opportunities to travel, work with a variety of clients, experience full-time Agile projects, and collaborate with a team of leaders in the Agile community. Engagements are anything but typical—consulting assignments will vary from fulfilling the role of leading a novice team as they learn Agile practices and Lean principles for the first time, advising a busy Product Owner, developing software with a team, delivering training courses, documenting consulting deliverables, coaching a team on Agile practices and Lean principles that will take them to the next level, and other similar activities. Often you’ll work with a team for a number of days, while other times you’ll immerse yourself at a customer for a longer duration.
Candidates must be excellent listeners, possess outstanding facilitation and conflict-resolutions skills, and the ability to work in collaborative environments. The candidate will be selected based on their ability to function as a consultant, developer, trainer, and coach, although those in this role may frequently be involved in typical project delivery roles.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or combination of relevant education and experience
Must be a Certified Scrum Master with 5+ years of Agile experience, and 2 years of Agile Coaching experience
Must have 2 years of experience coaching teams to use Kanban and other Lean principles
Agile Coach experience during a infrastructure move using Kanban would be a big plus. Experience as a PM in the past who has managed an infrastructure move would also be a plus. Minimally, need to understand how an infrastructure move is different from a software project.
Experience with processes and tools supporting Agile methodologies
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types
Facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
Ability to understand technical issues
Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills
Ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential
Collaborative approach to decision-making on teams
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
A willingness to travel

Additional Skills Desired:
Experience as a developer, tester, business analyst, or UX designer, especially in an Agile environment
Experience with Extreme Programming (XP), and other Agile engineering practices is a plus
Outstanding presentation and public speaking skills.
Experience conducting stand-up training
Experience developing training materials
Experience leading organizational change management
Experience developing and growing business with new and existing accounts in a deliberate and strategic manner.
Experience designing and deploying methodologies in many types of organizations

Personal Characteristics:
A predisposition to patience and tolerance.
Must be comfortable and articulate in challenging change management scenarios, knowing when to insert self and when to fade back.
Must be extraordinarily articulate, persuasive, and comfortable interacting with all levels of customers, from line developer to C/VP level.
Effective and collaborative team member.
