Engineering Physicist will work within both the Raytheon Ktech High Energy Density Science and Technology and Directed Energy teams by contributing effort toward the implementation of creative solutions to challenging and complex problems across disciplines. These disciplines include: high energy density plasma physics, high power microwave generation and/or pulsed power. This effort includes hands-on lab work, design, background research, and reporting. Support existing programs through ideas, solutions, and problem-solving; contribute new insights into existing problems that suggest novel solutions responsive to Raytheon Ktech and customer/sponsor needs. Cultivate new programs (internal and external) by identifying emerging opportunities and challenges; apply new approaches to old problems and old approaches to new problems, help write proposals for new funding. Provide leadership in the forms of informally guiding and mentoring junior team members; acting as a principal investigator; and serving as an informal subject matter expert within the department and lab.
Minimum of 5 years of post graduate experience in Physics Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience or PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with co-workers, other parts of the lab, and customers/sponsors.
Demonstrated record of creative application of physics knowledge and skills to solve complex experimental challenges
Demonstrated initiative, motivation, flexibility and interest in working in a team environment. Effective collaboration across levels and areas of technical expertise.
Excited by the prospect of a dynamic work environment with the ability to participate in and prioritize concurrent tasks.
Significant experience in one or more of the following: high energy density plasma physics, high power microwave generation, and/or pulse power.
