Overall Function: Manage the strategic and day to day operations of the Engineering/Product Application Department. Ensure adequate support of all Kemin business units and customers with timely, accurate, and quality solutions.

Reports To: Director of Sales

Direct Reports: typically up to 10

Responsibilities:
Provide direction and leadership for the Engineering/Product Application Department
Provide equipment services to all Kemin customers
Manage projects and resources to ensure timely service and installation of equipment
Ensure the safe work practices and environment for PAD employees and customers
Act as a representative of Kemin, selling equipment, service, and solutions by actively promoting PAD
Visit customer locations to understand the needs of the customers and industries to provide unique solutions
Liaise with sales team to remain on the frontline of customer desires and trends
Assist in the design of application equipment
Manage inventory of in stock parts and equipment
Provide training for continuous improvement to PAD employees

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
MBA desirable
5-7 years applicable experience
Mechanical design experience specific to material handling as well as fluid dynamics.
Extensive background in process control
Hands on experience in machinery installation and fabrication
Education in project management as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a minimal English proficiency level of Intermediate Mid as defined in the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

Working Conditions: The Engineering Department Manager is based in Des Moines, Iowa. The exempt-level position is considered to be 40 hours per week, but requires tremendous flexibility The incumbent will be expected to travel both domestically and internationally (50-75% of the time).
