This will be an as needed position. Part-time with days and/or evenings as appointments are needed.
Consistent with the Christian mission and Hope for Life Vision of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee this position will serve as the nutrition expert for the Maury County Family YMCA's wellness outreach programs.
Four year college degree with dietetics, nutrition or food science related degree required. Current RD registration in Tennessee.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Basic computer skills required.
Pre-hire: complete YMCA of Middle TN application for employment, new hire packet and Praesidium Child Abuse Detection/Prevention training.
Upon hire: Registered/Licensed Dietitian or Certified Nutritionist credential required/must be licensed by the state of TN as a Dietitian/Nutritionist
Before first shift: CEO parts 1 and 2; CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, Emergency Oxygen and BBP.
Models YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Responsible for participant's nutritional consultations with program participants as directed by the program parameters. Recommends dietary modifications for those with health concerns. Assesses client's nutritional needs to develop and implement nutritional programs, educate and report results. Participates and coordinates, if directed, marketing, seminar presentations and supermarket tours.
Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information and patient records.
Attends all required staff meetings.
Available to assist YMCA members in nutritional guidance as a fee based program.
Functions as part of a team while being self-motivated and self-directed.
