Performs packaging tasks and the related activities in support of the medication dispensing process.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Follow daily packaging assignments.
Complete extemporaneous packaging assignments as needed.
Clean work station and replenish all supplies.
Change gloves between medications.
Hand/Strip/Card packaging - never touch medication with bare hands, only tweezers.
Double -check accuracy of all medications before beginning packaging process.
Record all quantities and expiration dates in designated log area.
Obtain pharmacist check.
Place completed stock on shelf and return any unused medication to the appropriate area in the pharmacy.
Fill out and complete kit delivery slips.
Send out all kits requested for delivery.
Replenish any kits that are returned from facility.
Send STAT kits as needed.
Restock kit area on a daily basis.
Complete proper paperwork for all kits.
Input kit information into computer.
Respect privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information.
Access only the minimum amount of patient protected health information needed to perform your JOB/ROLE well.
Follow all applicable government regulations including HIPPA.
Display behavior which exemplifies employee code of conduct guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications :
1:30pm - 10pm shift
High school graduate or equivalent
Registered with the state as Pharmacy Technician required
National Certification required
Ability to physically perform moderate lifting
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Knowledge of basic math skills
Strict adherence to Attendance and Punctuality policies is a must
Must have dependable transportation
Pharmacy Technician license required
Previous technician experience preferred
