The Global Functions Technology Services (GFTS) organization is responsible for providing and delivering end-to-end design, application development, and production support as well as infrastructure management to the Global Functions from across Citi's lines of business and regions. We support the global functions of Finance, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Human Resources, General Services, Corporate Realty, Vendor Management and Control. Our global technology platforms capture and manage customer, market, transaction and accounting data. We are the backbone for producing reporting for our managers, customers and regulators spanning the areas of customer, international and domestic central bank reporting, market analytics, financial statements and compliance reporting.
The General Ledger/Management Reporting group is looking for an experienced individual to be part of a team that supports a web based intranet application which manages Special Purpose Entities (SPE).
The Special Purpose Entities Approval and Reporting (SPEAR) system is a custom-built data repository designed to facilitate the review, approval and reporting of variable interest entities in Citi’s 10-K and 10-Q filings.
It is a strategic application that is also in scope for a Finance initiative to consolidate all Citi’s legal entity management systems.
SPEAR is developed with Java Enterprise Edition running on a Weblogic application server and Oracle database.
There is major work in 2013 to enhance the user interface (UI), improve control and operational efficiency, and migrate to Linux platform. The candidate will work with a team of application developers to analyze business requirements, participate in system design discussions, code and test solutions, and ensure final implementation to production.
The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of system enhancements and business solutions; must possess strong technical skills, able to work independently and in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 7+ years of experience in the following areas:
• Core Java and Java Enterprise Edition
• PL-SQL (SQL, Procedures and Triggers)
• Unix scripts
• Web application framework such as Spring or Struts
• Object Oriented Programming concepts
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Excel API (JXL) and Excel macro is a plus
• Experience with financial statements and reporting is a plus
