NETWORK ENGINEER, Information Services and Technology (IS&T), to join an elite team responsible for the operation and support of MIT's core campus network infrastructure and supporting its preeminent teaching, learning, and research environments. The team supports MIT's large, complex, and innovative Microsoft Exchange service and central Windows domain services. Responsibilities include the support, maintenance, and operation of MIT's Windows Infrastructure Services; assisting with provisioning and the daily administration of a large Exchange environment; and supporting the Exchange infrastructure and providing support for other applications and services. Will also resolve complex problems, share on-call responsibilities, provide/maintain documentation, ensure day-to-day operational stability of MIT network services, participate in projects, and provide technical and operational support to other IT staff across MIT.
REQUIREMENTS: at least five years of experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Domain administration roles in an enterprise-level environment. Must have experience with the administration of Microsoft Exchange 2010 and 2007 in an enterprise-level environment, Microsoft SQL administration, and scripting and programming in PowerShell; and be familiar with Office 365 hybrid implementations and ADFS 2.0. Experience managing VMware, SCOM, Citrix, and SharePoint a plus. The ability to work effectively as a team member is expected. Good communication skills are essential; as is experience working directly and communicating effectively with customers (faculty, staff, and students), assessing their needs, and analyzing and resolving their problems.
