Laboratory Analyst III - 130000011J Description
      PRIMARY FUNCTION / PRIMARY GOALS / OBJECTIVES:

      The Materials Management (MM) group within Research & Development supports the Process Research Center , (PRC) and the Pilot Plant, (PP) with scheduling and material control functions needed for the manufacture of research, replicate, SIP, clinical, and home use products. Area functions that support both sites include pre-production planning, scheduling, and inventory control.

      MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

      Pre-Production planning:
      ·
      Prepare manufacturing recipes within POMSnet, (manufacturing execution system), prepare manufacturing documents, obtain ancillary documentation (if applicable), and submit to Quality Assurance for approval.
      ·
      Responsible for ensuring that documentation is in place prior to production.
      ·
      Conduct Pre-production review and stage work orders for each pre-run meeting.
      ·
      Work closely with Product Research & Development to in order to meet planned project timing and resolve issues prior to production.
      ·
      Ensure project execution readiness.
      ·
      Create finishing and/or rework orders as applicable.
      Scheduling:
      ·
      Function as a secondary scheduling resource working within Infor AS.
      ·
      Help develop more efficient ways of performing tasks through continuous improvement.
      Raw Materials:
      ·
      Coordinate release of raw materials with R&D and the Quality Department.
      ·
      Compile and assure accuracy of material release documents.
      ·
      Resolve issues pertaining to material receipt, storage, or release documentation prior to production.
      Metrics:
      ·
      Track, record and report key production metrics to drive continuous improvement.
      ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
      ·
      Devise, develop, and deploy required data queries in response to business needs.
      ·
      Display proficiency in computer applications (MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc) with basic programming knowledge/skills.
      ·
      Develop spreadsheets and have a background in database management.
      ·
      Develop reports utilizing SQL queries or other IT tools.
      ·
      Recognizes problems and initiates exception reports, deviations, and corrective actions.
      ·
      Assists in training or, or trains other analysts in the conduct of routine procedures.
      ·
      Maintains accurate and up-to-date records. Reports results according to established procedures.
      ·
      Writes short summary reports.
      ·
      Performs all activities in a manner consistent with relevant corporate and/or division operating procedures and complies with safety practices.
      ·
      Maintains a clean, safe and orderly work environment.
      ·
      Maintains appropriate control of confidential and proprietary information the disclosure of which could have substantial adverse effects.
      ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
      This position will work under the direction of the Supervisor, Scheduling / MM. The Analyst is responsible for the complete preparation of all work orders. This position requires the ability to work independently and elevate issues when appropriate. The Analyst is expected to review their work for errors and correct them before submitting to Quality for review.
      Qualifications
      Must have 3-5 years’ experience in the following areas: Operation of multiple computing platforms and planning. Good written and oral communication skills and sound understanding of manufacturing systems, inventory control procedures. Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. The ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
      EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
      Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline.
      Significant Work Activities and Conditions Continuous sitting for prolonged periods ( more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)
