The Senior Manager, Sales Analytics will serve as the key strategy resource in the sales and marketing group focused on strategic planning and insights, strategic projects, and high- level business issues facing LifeScan.
This position will lead the organization in generating business insights at the national and industry level to drive business understanding and action. This position is expected to lead and develop independent partnerships with multiple partners in order to answer key business questions working with outside consultants/vendors if needed. This person will also be responsible for strategic planning for the U.S. business on a yearly basis providing both high level viewpoints to senior management and detailed analysis to business partners. This person will provide analytical strength, strategic vision, and support as needed to a variety of key stakeholders to help answer drive the business. This is a very visible position and provides opportunity to work closely with executives at LifeScan.
This position is a key leadership management position, directly supporting the Director of North America Sales Analytics, and Vice President of Sales in the development of strategic vision for LifeScan business. This position will serve as the primary liaison between internal customers and must ensure seamless implementation and execution of the collaboration efforts.
The Senior Manager, Sales Analytics will be responsible for business review process, serve as key analytical lead, deep dive analysis to address key business issues and opportunities. Leadership of state of the business review meetings with middle level management and senior management. Cross-functional partnership within organization to discover root causes for under/over performance against goals. Publishing scorecard and provide insights into the data results. Providing recommendations to marketing and field sales of national and local level opportunities as well as senior level management.
Serve as liaison between internal partners and alliance projects including: Call planning, targeting, alignment, deployment, incentive compensation, CRM, sales training, IT, human resources, health care compliance, samples management, marketing and field sales leadership. Provide operational and project leadership to collaboration efforts between internal partners.
Scope and conduct special projects to address key business trends and produce insights to drive action. Activities include engaging with consultants to conduct analyses and putting into place processes for ongoing analyses that would be of value to the organization. Market Behavior Analytics.
This individual must be able to independently partner with adjacent business analytics functions, brand team, franchise leadership, finance, sales analytics to define analysis objectives and leverage resources. Must drive consistency of brand strategy and analytics from national through regional levels while simultaneously driving local level opportunities and ideas up to national level.
Provide analysis around business questions as needed. Make presentations to various groups in the company (sales force, brand and channel marketing, etc) to explain current trends. Work with data vendors to research questions behind the data and communicate to the key stakeholders internally. Ad hoc analytics.
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required. At least 7 years total business experience is required. 5-7 years post MBA/MS (and 2-3 pre MBA/MS) experience in a consulting, corporate strategy or analytics role is strongly preferred. Demonstration of quantifiable business results from analysis-based activities is required. Experience in leading direct and indirect teams in driving major business initiatives is required. Management and leadership experience in leading projects and understanding of the sales and marketing functions within medical device and/or pharmaceutical companies is preferred. Prior experience working within the Diabetes disease state is strongly preferred. Strong analytical/quantitative skills are required. Excellent communication and presentation skills (experience in Sr. level presentation) are required. Demonstrated strength in interdependent partnering and team management is required. Strong PC skills for data analysis and presentation of complex information is required. This position may require up to 15% domestic travel.
