Assumes responsibility for the functioning of the unit during the shift.
Coordinates patients' care activities for assigned nursing unit with other members of the health care team.
Delegates patient care to appropriate nursing staff. Makes assignments fairly based on patient's acuity and needs & the skill level and experience of staff. Determines & discusses staffing needs based on staffing matrix and acuity levels.
Follows up to assure that duties assigned to staff are completed.
Supervises and communicates with nursing staff the implementation of the patient's medical and clinical plan of care.
Functions as resource for all staff & preceptor for new staff & nursing students. Mentors staff, providing opportunities for their growth and development.
Graduate from an RN program. BSN preferred.
Two (2) years of nursing experience. One (1) year unit specific charge nurse experience.
Nevada RN License. CPR Certification for Health Care Providers or equivalent.
