Mars is the largest manufacturer of pet food in the world. Mars Petcare US manufactures pet food in
factories in the US, including
PEDIGREE®, WHISKAS®, CESAR®, TEMPTATIONS®, and THE GOOD LIFE RECIPE® brands. We also have a growing private label business which includes some of the largest retailers in the country.
As an Intern, you will be given a 12 week assignment in a function. Your manager will determine specific work and objectives. Assignments will be based on business needs and your experience.
An Associate will be assigned as your mentor from the day you start and through your program. They are responsible for ensuring that you receive a full orientation to the Mars Petcare US organization, culture and philosophy, along with a personal development plan.
The Mars Petcare Exclusive Brands (EB) team is looking for a highly engaged individual that can easily acclimate into a high-performing team environment. The individual will have the ability to own a couple of high-visibility assignments within the EB Customer Marketing Team that will require interaction with multiple functional areas across the Petcare business.
– Using category, consumer and shopper insights, develop an overall solution for the Exclusive Brands soft/dry business. This will involve working with cross-functional areas across the pet care business and making a recommendation at the end of the 12-week internship.
- Further develop the EB 40 Box model by expanding into value and premium segments as well as developing a private label version of this tool.
– Lead a project through the step-1 process. Work with the cross-functional team to develop a project charter and lead the project through the completion of the internship assignment.
All Interns will most typically be located in the Franklin, TN office (just south of Nashville, TN) unless otherwise agreed.
Current enrollment in an MBA or Master’s Program - Interest in Marketing
Excellent written and communication skills
Research and data analysis - Understanding of industry marketplace reporting (IRI, Nielsen, etc).
Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Critical thinking and strategic planning
Self-starter and Problem Solver
Ability to travel
