We’re seeking a
Software Quality Analyst
for our Marine department in
to perform software quality assurance development and testing activities for Garmin’s products in a team-oriented environment.
Software Quality Analysts will work closely with product development teams to create, maintain, and & review test cases and execute test cases/scripts for feature interaction, stress & performance to improve continuous test coverage and overall quality and usability of Garmin products.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Software Quality Analysts may also serve as a test coordinator and lead overall test planning and execution for an assigned product.
- Perform analysis of test results and users’ feedback, and communicate with product development teams to assist in problem resolution and create periodic test reports per test process
- Analyze defects to create additional test cases to improve test coverage and provide leadership in first level defect analysis
- Define new or improved test processes
- Train and mentor new team members
Qualified candidates for the Software Quality Analyst role will possess an Associate’s Degree from a two-year college or technical school or a minimum of 4 years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description and excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule.
A minimum of 2 years experience as a Garmin International Software Quality Specialist or 4+ years experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description and relevant experience and/or training in software quality assurance processes and methodologies AND experience and/or training creating test plans, conducting usability tests, and/or writing test scripts are also a must.
Other requirements for this role include:
Candidates who possess a Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university, previous experience working in a team environment, and experience testing and developing/analyzing software tests in a core product market (Aviation, Automotive, Mobile, Marine, OEM, Fitness, Outdoor and Recreation) are preferred.
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Superior organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail and quality
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
