Primary Purpose of Position: Ensure a safe environment for the students and other employees through effective hiring, development, supervision, and retention of quality AM/PM Program Coordinators and direct care staff. Must be effective and efficient in training, mentoring and supervision of staff.

Position Requirements :

  • High school diploma or G.E.D., experience working with youth in a professional setting, and a minimum of 1 year professional experience in a supervisory position
  • Minimum of 21 years old due to state regulation
  • No criminal convictions within the previous five years which are felonies, crimes against youth, domestic violence, assault, or violation of the Wyoming Substances Abuse Act.
  • Employee must be capable of participating in physical activities and able to assist in the physical restraint of a student if necessary.
  • Meet employee annual training requirements of 30 hours annually (must include physical restraint, child abuse recognition & reporting, medication systems, suicide prevention, and safety procedures) and maintain current certification in First Aid and C.P.R.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Safe Environment -
    • Support students confronting negative behavior
    • Use the 6 Steps of Confrontation
    • Confront negative behavior following the 7 Levels of Confrontation
    • Supervision and/or awareness of students physical location
    • Access "read" norms, behaviors, attitudes, potential risks communicating those reads and intervening as needed
    • Agency Systems including Medication, Evacuation (building and campus), Other Emergency (Medical, AWOL, Suicide Prevention)
  • Positive Normative Culture
  • Focus on positive norms at a campus level and individual house level.
  • Promote student positive self-image - cleanliness, participation in extra-circular activities, positive projection, and treating each other with respect.
  • Implement programming that promote education, life skills, accountability, safety, and facilitate positive behavior.
  • Support Wolves Club members and encourage non-members to work towards membership
  • Development of Team (AM/PM Coordinators, Counselor-Educators, and Counselor-Specialists)
  • Actively participate in the interviewing for openings on team.
  • Training of team members through proper orientation, ensuring they attend required training, observations and providing feedback and direction based on observations.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive professional relationship with team members that produce mutual respect and a commitment for team success.
  • Communicating information, expectations, and if required needed corrections in a concise, clear, and timely manner.
  • Commitment for all your team members to be successful and are considered for advancement opportunities.
