The Dispatcher performs various duties assisting the EMS Department and the Security Department in communication and recording responsibilities. The Dispatcher’s primary functions are to receive calls and obtain pertinent information in order to dispatch appropriate personnel and equipment. The Dispatcher maintains radio communications with the party on-line and with the ambulance once it is dispatched to maintain adequate patient care prior to ambulance arrival.
Dispatch emergency services in accordance with the appropriate state guidelines, FCC rules and regulations and facility policies.
Must respond quickly to requests for assistance and deal effectively with stressful situations.
Recognize critical needs of transport and notify appropriate supervisor.
Successfully complete appropriate forms as required by policy, timeframe and format.
