Principle Technical Support Engineer - Reliability Job Description
The Qualified candidate will be an integral part of the Patriot Whole Life Engineering team as a Principle Technical Support Systems Engineer leading field failure reporting and analysis to assist Reliability growth on the Patriot System. The candidate will interface directly with Raytheon program leaders, customer program staff, U S Army customers and represent Raytheon at various Program Reviews and customer meetings. The other responsibility will be to visit US Army customers that are deployed globally and brief their Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) performance during periodical site visits. The candidates will develop technical solutions to complex reliability problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity; work under consultative directions towards predetermined long term goals and objectives; exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment and update complex program level concepts and plans and provide support for activation of those plans. You will have an existing secret clearance and enjoy travelling 15- 20%, Domestic and International.
Lead Patriot field failure data collection, analysis and reporting team utilizing the Maintenance Analysis Reporting System (MARS) database
Conducts failure data scoring and provides periodical Theater reports, Outspot reports and other required reports to internal and external customers
Support strategic actions of Failure Review Board (FRB) and FRACAS Events Review Board (FERB) meetings to improve reliability performance of fielded Patriot equipment
Conduct global customer site visits, collect operation time data and brief customer on Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) performance of their equipment
Provide technical direction to cross program participants on key Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) issues
Interface with Patriot program team to support objectives to increase operational readiness and reliability growth
Serve as organization Reliability spokesperson on projects; act as advisor to management and customers on reliability issues
This position can be a salary grade level A05 or A06 based on the candidate’s qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.
BS from an accredited university or college in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 8 years working in cross functional team environments, utilizing inter-personal skills to achieve technical objectives
Prior experience as a team lead to support multi-disciplines
Previous experience in Patriot field operations; experience with/knowledge of the Patriot System hardware.
Proficient knowledge and skills on Access Database
Prior experience in proposal writing and integration
Prior experience in the development of schedule inputs and program metrics
Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Project)
Demonstrated strong presentation skills. Prior experience in presenting to upper management and customers
Excellent oral and written communication ability
Demonstrated capability to lead resolution of complex Reliability tasks
Understand Reliability concepts and math models and be able to apply the knowledge
Existing secret clearance or ability to obtain
Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
Database knowledge (Oracle or SQL)
Working knowledge of the Army rank structure
Strong inter-personal skills and ability to interact well will others.
