This position is responsible for identifying and driving Supplier Quality improvements and issues to closure. This position will support the GDATP Guns Strategic Business Unit, and will be a leader in establishing positive controls and Supplier relationships . The job includes development of problem resolution plans, quality metrics, variation reduction plans, and the coordination to resolve quality issues internally and externally through cross functional team members (engineering, contracts, procurement, manufacturing engineering, program mgmt.). The role requires interface with suppliers, manufacturing operations, customers and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). Responsible for Incoming inspection plans, supplier corrective action followup, interpreting supplier performance data, and most importantly establishing and implementing proactive methods for process measurements and communication and continuous improvement at suppliers.
Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline
Daily routine requires: ability to muti-task and prioritize, self-direction in managing daily tasks, and excellent communication / facilitation skills and problem solving skills. This position is integral to the program's cross functional team and requires strong skills in team dynamics and the strength of character to provide quality leadership throughout the program life cycle.
6-8 years work experience in a manufacturing environment with specific focus in quality assurance.
Knowledge and proficiency on computers including MS Office and e-mail; experience applying FEMA, SPC, and tracking and reporting on problem and project status.Prefer experience in Quality Engineering, DoD/Aerospace environment, Process Controls, ISO/AS 9000 Quality System Standards, internal/supplier auditing, material review board (MRB) activities, failure analysis/problem solving, project management, facilitating, performing ROI analysis, International supplier quality experience preferred.
