SUMMARY: Mail Clerks are responsible for ensuring that all US Mail, Fedex and UPS deliveries, interoffice mail, packages, break room orders and office supply orders are delivered in a timely and accurate manner each day to all Vermont locations in Washington and Chittenden Counties.
This role is also responsible for determining the correct amount of postage for each outgoing mail piece and affixing postage to all outgoing mail, as well as delivering all posted GMCR mail to the Post Office at the end of every business day. This position is responsible for packing and shipping mail to all remote GMCR sites daily.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pick up US mail at the applicable Post Office every morning by 8:30 a.m. and deliver all GMCR US mail to the Post Office by 4:30 p.m. daily.
Pick up mail from mailbox at 687 Marshall Ave Williston location every morning and other locations if needed. .
Sort, distribute and deliver US mail and interoffice mail twice daily, alternating Washington county and Chittenden county route with other Mail Clerk.
Collect, sort and process outgoing mail at each mail stop.
Deliver break room orders and office supply orders to all VT locations.
Pick up UPS and FedEx deliveries at Receiving and deliver them to all VT locations.
Load and unload materials, goods, equipment, and mail at various destinations as assigned.
Use a postage meter to determine and affix correct postage to all outgoing GMCR US mail.
Use a FedEx manifest machine to ship packages.
Drive a company van in a safe and compliant manner.
Maintain a clean van daily, use a company gas card to fuel van, gather and record driver metrics daily and schedule any necessary maintenance and repairs.
Participate in Admin department’s daily stretching routine.
Supports Administrative Assistants with various projects as time allows. This could include copying, GBC binding, assembling training materials, filling requests for sales materials, folding, stapling and laminating.
Performs delivery, clerical or other duties as requested by management.
Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to remain cheerful and pleasant under heavy workload.
Must possess a valid VT drivers’ license and a clean driving record.
High school diploma or GED required
Ability to work in a team environment and able to get along with others.
Ability to work some overtime as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to drive a van and sit for periods of time.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. frequently move stacks of boxes weighing 150 lbs. with hand truck.
Ability to drive in and be outside in all types of weather conditions year round.
Ability to be on your feet during 90% of your shift.
Ability to frequently lift, bend, stretch and stand.
Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, stoop and twist.
