Applies analytical expertise for the development and execution of complex lab procedures. Requires minimum supervision. Provides technical training to QC lab members.
Serve as a team lead, for a technical discipline with supervisory capacity. Recommends and implements continuous improvement steps into testing methods and assures that procedural changes are transferred into routine and specialized laboratory procedures.
Performs routine/special sample testing. Procedures may be readily available through compendia methods or in-house method references. Processes samples for chemical and/or biological analyses.
Uses effective problem solving techniques on laboratory issues. This includes recommended steps to prevent re-occurrences. Determines and communicates root cause of problems to all appropriate personnel.
Identifies areas of personnel technical training and works with management staff to develop plans to assure that training needs are met. Directly trains newly hired or current staff personnel as needed.
Keeps manager informed of work status to include product testing information, project time line information, recommendations on follow up action to resolve atypical results or problems encountered. Incorporates computer knowledge, using both direct instrument linked programs and off-line word processing and spread sheet programs to accomplish communication goals. Writes reports to document technical recommendations to the laboratory operations.
Min 10 years of related experience with advanced expertise.
Education - Certification - Licenses & Registrations:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry. Advance degree in Chemistry is preferred.
