Coordinate with store for bar inventory ordering.
Main point of contact for bar events: identifies opportunities for events based on wine/beer representatives available or store bank of ideas, identifies tasting items and coordinates with vendors for samples and orders, creates event materials, acts as host/hostess for most events.
Assist in scheduling bar shifts to meet traffic needs.
Act as team leader for all bar staff including but not limited to: ensure all duties are completed, providing performance feedback, identify areas for individual growth, liaison between bar and store, administer disciplinary action as needed for bar staff.
Analyze inventory movement and sales to predict trends and operational needs.
Have a clear understanding of bar financial goals and work between sales and budgets to meet goals.
Identifies and executes opportunities to market the bar to increase traffic and revenue.
Identifies new products to keep menu fresh and in tune with customer demands
Provide quality service and meaningful experiences while serving food and beverages in wine bar.
Effectively greet, listen and make casual conversation with guests.
Efficiently prepare food and drink orders according to specified measuring systems as well as offering customized recommendations.
Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other bar tools.
Complete preparation for the start of shift, including but not limited to, anticipating and communicating replenishment needs, stocking ice, glassware, paper supplies and transporting all bar tools to the bar set-up area.
Appropriately remove soiled dishware from bar top and tables and place in designated area, wash soiled glassware.
Process all payment methods including end of day till closeout.
Complete closing duties, including but not limited to, counting bank at end of shift, completing designated cashier reports, resolving any discrepancies and securing store and bar.
Act as support for store as needed or when bar does not have customers.
Have previous work experience as a bartender and/or server. Lead server/bartender or bar/restaurant management experience highly recommended.
Know basic wine and beer information, bar equipment, proper food handling methods, cleanliness procedures, and state and local serving guidelines.
Be comfortable with multi-tasking (give quality, attentive service to guests while maintaining the bar and preparing orders for patrons at bar and tables).
Possess outstanding interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with guests.
Be able to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner.
Work well with other bar and store employees to present an enjoyable experience to guests.
Stand on your feet for prolonged periods of time, be able to carry trays weighted down significantly with glassware and, if any, dishware, silverware and food product.
Be groomed and dressed appropriately to deliver our brand experience.
Be prepared to work variable schedules based around busy bar times, holidays, events and weekends.
Preference will be given to applications that possess the following skills:
- Detailed wine and beer knowledge.
- Thorough understanding of gourmet food as well as wine pairings.
- Trained in formal wine presentation.
- Bar/restaurant management experience.
