Responsible for the development and audit of processes and procedures that ensure compliance with applicable legislation pertaining to environmental, health and safety and
handles all contact with Business Units and appropriate agencies. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist. May
provides/ promotes employee awareness/training on matters of environmental, health, and safety.
Implements compliance programs and maintains them updated.
Performs periodic audits in order to follow-up, and assure compliance with the established programs.
Maintains new laws and regulations information up to date, and maintains management informed of any changes and the effects in the operations.
Develops and implements a formal program in order to evaluate the modifications to the existing facilities, operations and future processes, as well as the necessary equipment to
assure compliance with the occupational safety, health requirements.
Develops and maintains internal objectives in accordance with the company corporate objectives.
Develops and manages training programs for management, supervisors, and employees in the control and evaluation of work risks, hazardous materials handling, dangerous
substances, as well as ergonomics.
Coordinates audit/ inspection activities with external consultants and government and corporate auditors, and any other personnel related to these areas.
Maintains contact with local and federal regulatory agencies, during the preparation of permit applications and special reports.
Maintains the "Emergency Response Plan" program.
Assures compliance with state and local regulations, procedures, rules, internal policies and labor laws.
Maintains proper operation of the security function to protect company assets and assure that internal regulations, procedures, and rules are properly followed and complied with.
Responsible for maintaining a work environment free of any harassment, discrimination, and high on ethical/quality standards. Promote a safe work environment.
Performs other position related duties as assigned.
Reports any observed or informed process and/or product non-conformities to the Supervisor for action and resolution.
Reports any complaint regarding a Medtronic product to the Supervisor.
Complies with all the requirements in the operational procedures at the area of responsibility in order to meet the requirements of all applicable Quality System Regulations (e.g.:
FDA Part 820 Quality System Regulation, ISO 13485 Quality Standard, R-PAL (Japanese QSR’s).
Acknowledge and maintain commitment with the EHS Policy.
Participate in the development of EHS improvement projects.
Participate actively in the EHS programs to achieve the objectives and targets defined for the area.
Educational: Science, Engineering, Hygienist, Environmental Sciences, or related field
Experience: Senior Level: 5+ Years with Bachelors or 3+ Years with Masters
Exposure to manufacturing environment
Quality and Results Oriented
Fluency speaking and writing in English and Spanish
Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronic industry
Auditing and reporting

Capacity to calculate, classify, compare, coordinate, copy, edit, evaluate, interview, instruct, read, observe, organize, plan, compile, select, request and document.
Sedentary work, in occasions light, which requires minimum physical strength. Besides it requires communication skills, eye-hand coordination and moving about capacity.
