Federal Contractor with multi-state construction operations is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Construction Laborer. This position will involve manual labor activities ranging from dirt work activities, spotting equipment, laying pipe, grade checking, etc. on a construction site. The position is physically demanding requiring the handling of heavy materials. Additional labor activities will be involved in performing other duties as assigned. For this position, Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Labor handling, lifting, loading, unloading materials, tools, supplies and equipment at various locations;
Use and maintain tools, such as shovels, squeegees, sawzall, concrete saw, etc.;
Installation of storm, sewer, and water underground piping;
Use and maintain safety-related equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE);
Spot trucks and heavy equipment as needed in accordance with procedures;
Assists in the erection, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices;
Complete company paperwork properly and timely;
Properly follow company, EM 385-1-1 requirements and OSHA safety procedures;
Performs other assigned duties as required.
Requirements for the position include the following:
High School Diploma or GED;
1 to 5 Years hands-on experience in construction labor activities involving pipe laying and grade checking, etc.;
A current state drivers license, preferably a CDL;
Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions with weights ranging in excess of 75 pounds;
Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards;
Highly desirable qualifications for the position include the following:
5 to 10 Years hands-on experience laying pipe and grade checking;
40 Hr HAZWOPER training;
8 Hr HAZWOPER Refresher training, if applicable;
10 Hr OSHA Construction Safety training.
