  • 4 year or equivalent college degree from an appropriately accredited institution, preferably in science or nursing or applicable
    Industry related experience
  • Ten years clinical trial experience including at least six years project management experience , preferably in CRO, pharmaceutical,
    device or biotech setting. Knowledge of or direct experience managing Global/International clinical studies. Four years managerial
    experience including direct reports management
  • Knowledge of local regulations for the conduct of clinical development programs
  • Thorough knowledge of GCP and ICH Guidelines.
  • Thorough knowledge of effective project management processes.
  • Comprehensive proposal and budget development skills with proven ability to negotiate with clients.
  • Strong knowledge of resource management and utilization.
  • Strong knowledge of global financial management (budget development, time and cost, forecasting, revenue, margins, profit and loss,
    invoicing, etc.)

  • Regionally home based personnel must maintain an appropriate work environment to support a business atmosphere.
  • May have line management (administrative) responsibility for Project Directors, Project Managers, Senior Project Managers or others
    as required.

Job Description:
The Senior Project Director will be assigned as Project Management Account Lead (PAL) to one or more client accounts. In the PAL role,
the Senior Project Director has overall accountability for satisfactory delivery of projects for assigned clients. The Senior Project Director
generally will be assigned day to day management responsibility for large, complex, multi-project programs of work but may be
assigned as Project Director or Project Manager as business needs dictate. The Senior Project Director has line management


  • In a matrix environment, serve as a Company operations leader and liaison across assigned programs, projects and clients
  • Where appropriate, represent Company on assigned client sponsored committees or programs (i.e. CRO-Client Operations
    Committee, Data Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB), etc.)
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with client operational group and project management teams for assigned clients to
    ensure opportunity for additional business
  • Achieve a strategic understanding of assigned client company‚Äôs across projects operations processes and needs; determine how
    Company can better serve these needs both efficiently and profitably
  • Participate in new and repeat business proposal development including operational strategy, budget preparation and bid defense
    preparation/presentation as needed
  • Facilitate the resolution of any issues arising from the client relationship such as project staff performance, turnover on the project,
    invoice payments, change of scope negotiations, etc
  • In collaboration with assigned Project Leaders:

    • Monitor project work flow and review resource requirements regularly.
    • Review
      project financials and profitability including revenue reports, change order, invoicing and payment status.
    • Assist Project Lead with
      identifying, documenting and escalating issues impeding successful delivery of services to assigned client(s).

  • Monitor development, implementation and adherence to project plans, project contracts and contract amendments for assigned clients
  • Participate in regular project reviews to ensure projects are proceeding within timeline, quality, budget, customer satisfaction and
    resource utilization expectations
  • Work closely with and provide mentoring to project teams to ensure they are communicating, interacting and cooperating
  • Assist project teams in problem resolution
  • Work with leadership in all Company functional areas on continuous development of business processes and process improvements
    to support cross functional teams and ensure project/program work is uniform, complete and managed appropriately across all assigned
    projects and within the functional areas
  • Fulfill Project Lead role as business needs dictate
  • In Program Director role, provide overall leadership of the assigned cross functional project teams to ensure the assigned program is
    delivered successfully, on time, within budget and according to client expectations
  • Provide line management to Project Directors, Sr. Project Managers and Project Managers as assigned
  • Train, mentor, support and provide leadership to direct reports and to assigned project teams
  • Supvervise, mentor, provide feedback and career development opportunities for assigned direct reports
  • Coordinate, write and deliver performance management reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
