The majority of the responsibility in this position is to close out the front desk operations for the day and prepare and start the operations for the next day. In addition to responding to guest inquiries, while ensuing guest satisfaction to achieve revenue optimization throughout each encounter with the guest in accordance with brand, hotel, franchise, and Associated Hotels LLC. standards to achieve, and exceed guest expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Settling and balancing the credit card transactions for the day.
Balancing the cash payments and paid outs for the day.
Running the audit to close out the day's operations.
Preparing and running revenue and management reports.
File all daily reports.
Setting up the complimentary full hot breakfast cold items and utensils
Register guest into hotel in a prompt and courteous manner using up selling techniques to maximize room rates. Prepare for all group check ins and outs, VIP arrivals, and any special assignments given.
Check guests in and out of the hotel.
Pre-register, block reservations following hotel rates structures, discounts, and sell strategies.
Ensure that guest receive all brand frequent traveler benefits and information.
Be familiar with all events and functions in the hotel during your shift.
Know your hotel and the product you handle.
Respond to guest requests promptly; promote hotel services, facilities, and outlets. Provide guest with information such as local attractions and directions to increase guest satisfaction.
Resolve guest complaints to their satisfaction, and inform supervisor or manager of major problems, complaints, disturbances or dissatisfied guests.
Walk guests in a professional and courteous manner according to procedures.
Book guests reservations.
Handle cash and credit transactions, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit; post all charges; completes cashier's reports, prepare deposit and counts bank.
Issues and releases guest safe-deposit boxes.
Protect the privacy of guest.
Provide PBX coverage as needed.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
SKILL AND REQUIREMENTS
Be guest oriented.
Understand the reservations process including the role of the distribution channels and reservations flow.
Working knowledge of area surrounding the hotel helpful.
Ability to multi-task.
Able to stay focused under pressure.
Able to problem solve.
Good computer skills, good written communication skills, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Basic math skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous Experience a plus.
Pulling out cash drawers, key drawer, and safety deposit boxes.
Bending and lifting may be required.
Continuous standing required to service guests.
