Primary Role: Achieves and exceeds targeted sales forecast and other objectives (i.e. market share) by demonstrating strong in-depth clinical, technical and scientific knowledge in the HAE disease state coupled with strong evidence of a strategic/sequential selling approach based on solid territory business planning. Strong ‘closer’Independently builds a comprehensive strategic and tactical business plan, including specific measurable, action oriented objectives that are synergistic with corporate goals. Business planning and execution against plan in major categories of prescriber and patient identification, conversion to Firazyr and maintenance and growth of businessHighly self- motivated individual with evidence of a strong work ethicUnderstands and is able to communicate the impact of HAE on patient quality of life; demonstrates genuine empathy for patient issues and is prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to drive a new patient-centric HAE treatment paradigmAbility to identify and develop key thought leaders in given territoryBusiness partner with strong interpersonal influencing skills who is able to develop understanding of regional, national and global business issues and the impact at a territory level.

Demonstrates strong history of team work that has resulted in significant accomplishments within an organization.Strong knowledge and understanding of reimbursement, distribution and managed care processesEffective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities. Effective administrator who efficiently manages time, resources and workloadFunctions well in relatively unstructured environment where relying upon previous experience is imperative Essential Functions: Represent and sell Firazyr for treatment of acute attacks of HAE to key opinion leaders, prescribers (primarily allergists and immunologists) and nursesIdentify and cultivate key opinion leaders in territory, encourage and develop co-ordinated care model for optimal patient careDevelop, strategize and execute territory plans with promotional and educational activities for physicians, residents, nurses and pharmacists Assist management (as required) in the development of national Marketing strategies, tactics and training materialsCommunicate, report, maintain accuracy of forecasting and business management of annual promotional budget & travel/expenses for territoryDevelop customer-tailored management programs and tactics for creating and maintaining loyal customer alliances that secure business for the long-term.Promote customer satisfaction by accentuating patient-centered product value, efficacy, safety and convenience Promote information on emergent treatment guidelines and practices patterns for treatment of HAE and the use of new therapeutics.Increase physician awareness on HAE with a strong emphasis on disease education.Encourage and support opportunities for customer peer to peer influence as a promotional tool; partner with MSL team to provide in-service education to physicians, nurses and pharmacistsWillingness to engage regularly with regional HAE patients groups; participate as needed in meetings and educational functions Work in tandem with Shire Reimbursement Specialists and/or Case Managers to ensure smooth flow of seamless total patient care Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor of Science or equivalent, 8+ years experience selling orphan/specialty biopharmaceutical productsExperience with specialty pharmacy providers and a strong understanding of reimbursement of specialty biopharmaceutical products is recommended.Excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, proven ability to work independently, understanding of reimbursement environment Experience of at least three years’ sales success in competitive setting competing with high-cost, high-value orphan/specialty pharmaceutical products. Knowledge of reimbursement landscape and access processes required.Experience utilizing cross functional resources and working with colleagues in a matrix setting to achieve corporate goals. Includes: patient/speaker meeting ownership, working with Med Affairs group, working with a patient services group.Experience working with home healthcare support nursing organizations a plus
