Duties & Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, advises managers and/or employees concerning a variety of personnel and job-related matters. May manage various Human Resource (HR) programs; participate in administrative hearings; prepare corrective, disciplinary, andadverse actions, to include making recommendations; and, process employee grievances. Provides counsel to managers and employees regarding workplace relation issues. The incumbent will prepare responses to EEOC and/or GCEO, responds to requests for production of documents, and represent the Agency in unemployment insurance appeal hearings. This position will require light to moderate statewide travel. Develops and/or provides advice in the development of personnel policies and procedures. Conducts training for supervisors and/or employees on an assortment of work related issues, as required.
Minimum Training & Experience: Completion of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience in human resources OR One year of experience in an equivalent area to the lower level. NOTE: Professional experience may substitue for the degree on a year for year basis
Agency Specific Qualifications and/or Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the entry qualifications, possess one or more of the items below:
- Master's Degree in human Resources or Business Administration or other related field
- Two or more years of direct employee relations experience
- One or more years of experience drafting responses to EEOC/GCEO or other Federal, State or Local compliance agencies
- Experience providing counsel to Executive or Senior Level Management on Human Resource related matters
- Experience representing an employer in Unemployment Hearings
- Experience reviewing ADA requests for reasonable accommodations

Incumbents in this position will be required to travel within the state of Georgia and on occasion, may be requested to travel out of state.
